Central Illinois sourdough classes and baked goods
Homestyle baked goods and empowering breaducation for families in Peoria and the surrounding communities.
My name is Andrea, and I love carbs.
More accurately, I love the good carbs that come from nutritious, holistic, hearty sourdough bread that is as good for your body as it is for your taste buds.
I’m not only a baker, but an educator, proudly bringing accessible sourdough training to families in my community through my classes and recipes.
Thank you for being here! Let’s get baking!

Sourdough is not as difficult to manage as TikTok wants you to think it is—you don’t have to bring it with you everywhere you go just to make sure it’s fed.
So while I love baking for others, I also believe you deserve to experience the joy of a successful sourdough experience—yours, from starter to crumb.
I host my sourdough baking classes across the Peoria area at places like The Wink House.

All things sourdough
Do you want to sit in a rocking chair with strong hot coffee in the early morning air, savoring farmers market jam and pasture-raised butter on the sweet, tangy, warm crunch of a toasted slice of sourdough that just tastes like…life?
I thought you might. Everyone and their mother should, if you ask me.
Speaking of moms: some bakers might market themselves as “not your mama’s sourdough.” But not me.
I’m proud to be Mama Crumb, making deeply authentic sourdough bread from my certified kitchen in the cornfields of rural Illinois. Not because it’s the cool hip thing to do right now, but because it’s a time-honored culinary tradition that helps us slow down and center meaningful moments. Moments that like the ones happen with family around a big old dinner table and moments like the ones that happen at six am on your front porch.
Whether baking it myself in my Peoria-area home, teaching it to others in classes, or empowering families to start their own journey with a jar of my very own starter, my sourdough worldview is maternal and nurturing.
It’s a “from my home to yours with love” kind of thing.
Just like Mama made.
Homemade sourdough, baked goods, and treats in Peoria Illinois
Life gets busy and there’s nothing more centering than high-quality, nutritious comfort food, like sourdough and other baked goods. If the commitment it takes to grow a starter and test recipes is more than you want to take on right now, I totally get it.
So I sell the baked goods I make, including artisan sourdough bread, made in my licensed home kitchen. Your schedule shouldn’t have to come between you and good, beautiful, delicious bread.
